UBHearing is leading the charge in innovative ways to provide safely delivered, quality hearing care.  We continue to evaluate and integrate new service delivery models, without compromising our reputation as the highest quality, best-priced clinic in Ontario.

We have implemented significant physical and process-related enhancements in our clinics.  UBHearing complies with all Public Health guidelines in delivering the essential service of hearing care in a low-risk environment.
By developing and adhering to stringent disinfection and screening standards, we prioritize the safety of the community in the face of the coronavirus.  We have modified our clinic and our processes to meet or exceed existing governmental and regulatory body standards as pertains to COVID-19.

Enhancements we have implemented include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
  1. Staff & Client Screenings
  2. Structural/Procedural Clinic Changes
  3. New Service Delivery Options

Client Screenings
  • Clients are screened prior to their appointment.  Those who fail the screening process will be required to postpone their visit for a minimum of 14 days.
  • The client intake process commences prior to a clinic visit in order to better ensure the appointment is booked for an appropriate duration, type, and method of delivery, and to reduce unnecessary visits.
  • Introduction of an online hearing screening application enables you to evaluate your level of hearing difficulty prior to determining whether a clinic visit is required.
  • Clients visiting the clinic have their temperature taken before entering the waiting room.  Those with a fever will be required to postpone their visit for a minimum of 14 days.

Structural/Procedural Clinic Changes
  • Counter-to-ceiling plexiglass has been installed around our reception desk, where space is shared with clients.
  • Bookings are made with a 15 minute interval between each appointment during which the clinic and equipment are disinfected and sanitized.  Walk in appointments are not permitted.
  • Clients are required to arrive at the clinic no earlier than 5 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
  • Modifications to our clinics and processes facilitate required social distancing and masks are in use.
  • Staff continue to be limited to the two clinic owners, who are spouses from a single household.
  • A single client will be permitted to enter the clinic space at any given time.  Where an accompanying support person is in attendance, they are subjected to the same screening and PPE requirements as clients.
  • A barrier prevents walk-ins from entering the space where another, screened client is being served.

New Service Delivery Options
  • Provision of online training resources for basic operational and in-home maintenance of hearing aids.
  • Multiple new service delivery options including self-care kits for ear-care, training of family members to provide care, in-home mobile care, curbside service, and low-touch in-clinic services.
  • No-touch options with respect to Assistive Devices Program (ADP) form signing and submission for those with family doctors.
  • Low cost, mail delivery for small quantities of hearing aid supplies.  Courier options available.

UBHearing is proud of the breadth and depth of measures we have implemented to be a low-risk healthcare provider for seniors who, due to their hearing loss, continue to experience an unprecedented level of isolation, especially during this time.
