We have developed new standards to better ensure the safety of the community in the face of the coronavirus. Our changes meet or exceed existing governmental and regulatory body standards.

Enhancements we have implemented include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Pre-Visit Client Screenings
- Structural/Procedural Clinic Changes
- New Service Delivery Options
Pre-Visit Client Screenings
- Clients are verbally screened via telephone prior to their appointment. Those who fail the screening process will be required to postpone their visit for a minimum of 14 days.
- The client intake process commences prior to a clinic visit in order to better ensure the appointment is booked for an appropriate duration, type, and method of delivery, and to reduce unnecessary visits.
- Introduction of an online hearing screening application enables you to evaluate your level of hearing difficulty prior to determining whether a clinic visit is required.
- Clients visiting the clinic are screened and have their temperature taken before entering the waiting room. Those who fail the screening process and/or temperature check will be required to postpone their visit for a minimum of 14 days.
Structural/Procedural Clinic Changes
- Counter-to-ceiling plexiglass has been installed around our reception desk, where space is shared with clients.
- Bookings are made with a 15 minute interval between each appointment during which the clinic and equipment are disinfected and sanitized. Walk in appointments are not permitted.
- Clients are required to arrive at the clinic no earlier than 5 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
- Modifications to our clinics and processes facilitate required social distancing and, where the staff must approach closer than 6', masks are in use.
- Staff continue to be limited to the two clinic owners, who are spouses from a single household.
- A single client, only, will be permitted to enter the clinic space at any given time. Where an accompanying support person is required, they are subjected to the same screening and PPE requirements as clients.
- A barrier prevents walk-ins from entering the space where another, screened client is being served.
New Service Delivery Options
- Provision of online training resources for basic operational and in-home maintenance of hearing aids.
- Multiple new service delivery options including self-care kits for ear-care, training of family members to provide care, in-home mobile care, curbside service, and low-touch in-clinic services.
- No-touch options with respect to Assistive Devices Program (ADP) form signing and submission for those with family doctors.
- Low cost, mail delivery for small quantities of hearing aid supplies.
