Targeted online hearing aid advertising seems all pervasive, especially if you’re over 65 years of age. Ads on social media and other sites promise low-cost, discreet “hearing aids” that are suitable for anyone. That's not surprising considering 10% of the population has hearing loss and 80% of those with hearing loss have yet to purchase hearing aids. That's a big market to tap into and there are plenty of people trying to cash in.
