At UBHearing™, we talk a lot about Transparency. We talk about Needs Based Pricing and Fair Pricing. But what do those terms actually mean, and why are they the cornerstone of how we operate at UBHearing™? Transparency, in plain, simple, dictionary language, means, "The quality of being transparent." See-through. Nothing hidden. Everything out in the open. In the world of business, it means the full, timely, and accurate disclosure of information. At UBHearing™, transparency means making sure you know exactly what you're paying for, what you're not, and why. It means disclosing commonplace manufacturer discounts offered to hearing aid retailers and answering the question, "So how much do these hearing aids really cost?" At UBHearing™ the answer is, "Less than anywhere else." We share our manufacturer discounts with our clients. Why wouldn't we? What about Needs Based Pricing? Whose "needs" are we taking into account? Well, for a start, at UBHearing™, we take our own needs into account. We run like a mom and pop shop. This gives us the luxury to decide what we actually need in life to be safe, healthy, and content. As it turns out, we don't need much, and we count ourselves very lucky. Money doesn't buy happiness. We also take your needs into account. Do you need the Cadillac of hearing aids, with all the bells and whistles? The latest and greatest, with all the automatic features? For most people, the answer is “No”. Now, if you want premium hearing aids, we'll sell them to you, and we'll sell them for less than any competitor (and set them up better too) but, for most people, entry level or mid-range hearing aids will give them 90% of the satisfaction of premium hearing aids, for half the cost. We'll discuss the pros and cons of each technology level and available options with you, so you can make the best possible decision. That's transparency again. When we take needs into account and are completely transparent, that's Fair Pricing. We publish the prices for our technology levels online, in the local paper, and in our office. That means that if you pull into our parking lot in a fancy car, we can't decide to charge you more than the guy who made the trip to see us on the bus. Rather than keeping our manufacturer discounts and our dramatically reduced dispensing fee in our back pocket, as a card to play to close a tricky sale, we offer the same low prices to everyone. That's transparency again, and that sounds fair to us. At UBHearing™, we would rather make $1.00 from one hundred people, than $100.00 from one person because, in determining what our needs are, helping as many people as possible ranks high on our list. For us, it just makes sense. We look forward to helping you or a loved one save money and hear better. At UBHearing™, we do things differently and we think you'll find the change refreshing. We certainly do.
